CAD Software
« on: January 20, 2012, »
Seeing that many of you utilize open software, I was hoping you could suggest a CAD program that would allow me to illustrate my installation.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you tried Google Scetchup? A very simple but powerful 3d modeling software.

I use google sketch up. a few pointers, take the time to read the manual, at least skim the basic parts. working with the program can be confusing at first, but once you get used to it its really cool. and best of all its FREE.

Ditto on using SketchUp.  I use it for all of our LAN/WAN documentation at work.  I've also used it with my architect to come up with a floor plan for my basement remodel.  Great tool.  There are lots of videos on how to use it as well.  Good luck.
