Everything went as planned. Started Dec 10th 2010 playing around with Vixen, next thing was LE Coop, then testing and finally lights Blinky Flashy. Half LED, the rest incandescent; total 12,000 lights, 32 channels.
My only advise is this: Take your time building the LE, learn to solder on junk before actually building on your stuff and use a magnified light when soldering the actual hardware. Definitely use CorrosionX on your extension cords, don't worry, just spray it in the sockets (not to much as a little goes a long way). If your controllers are outside (don't care how water tight the box is) spray the LE board LIGHTLY everywhere (back and front). The solder joints and sockets are close together and CorrosionX help prevent voltage leaks between them spots due to moister that WILL EVENTUALLY get in the box (moister always gets in the box).
Turn off all your stuff when it rains and let it dry out before you turn it back on...you will be less likely to have any issues with your LED's and other stuff. It isn't worth the head-ache, just don't run the show (POWER DOWN) when its raining or very wet out. If you do run wet, then get lots of CorrosionX and spray with the power off and then try it...that stuff is AMAZING. We tested during the rain and concluded CorrosionX is a must and prefer just to keep it powered down even though we could run it. Just decided it wasn't worth breaking something...
Everything is working perfectly...This is a great site and because of all the help DIYLA provided, we had people stopping out front of our house the VERY FIRST NIGHT and the numbers grow each night... The neighbors across the street actually had people come over, park in the yard and everyone turned on their radios and partied in front of their house for hours last night.
Next year will be bigger...I'm hooked for good now!
