I was showing these off to my nephew (who is 17), and he mentioned "why not put them inside a computer case?"
so i thought that would be an interesting idea.
kinda like for those that have the clear side on their computer.

Would certainly be a neat show for the crowd who like the glitzy cases. I'm from the era where computers are beige or black boxes which set out of the way and un-noticed. If I'm spending money on the computer, it's for processing power, memory or storage, not blinky lights and clear plastic windows! :)

Thats a pretty expensive prop for a few RGB lights ... and you'd probably have to waterproof it a lot.

I'm thinking that this could not be cost effective. You'd need a dongle, a hub plus an ssc and just for a few nodes. You'd run off the computer PSU of course and then you'd need to have the seq running in the background on the computer - using up cycles. Not to mention the problem of mounting all the hdw inside the case. You're probably better off sticking with the light kits that are made for computer cases.

Yes, but i meant the overall effect would be nice.
hey, some of you guys spend thousands, and thousands on an outdoor lightshow.
what's wrong with a few hundred on an indoor lightshow ;D
