Hi All,

Thinking about moving over from D-Light to Smart String.

Quick questions, I know its on here somewhere, but you can spend days trawling the information for the necessary answers.

I know where to purchase the Smart Strings, and the components for the boards, but could some one point me in the direction (Links) for all the other necessary components including the PCB's to get a 16 String system up and going please :)

Is it possible to connect the D-light AC-16 and DC-16 to Vixen.

Thank you all in advance and hoping this will be a good move for next years show.

Hi Otto,

for pcbs you just check the DLA Store. Also if you are not in a rush then in Jan or Feb the coop will restart and you can get complete kits (pcbs, parts). If you don't have a Pickit3 I would suggest getting one.

I am not sure I totally answer your question:

1 - You need a Windows PC and software (your choice in no order: Lor, LSP, Vixen)
2 - Dongle (USB or Ethernet)
3 - PC Power Supply (see wiki for figuring out required wattage)
4 - SS Hub
5 - SS Controllers
6 - SS Lights (nodes)
7 - Cat5 patch cables
