I have been following all the "happenings" here at DLA for most of the year. I have contemplated the idea of getting a ton of Express controllers but really never took the plunge. I now have decided its time to stop complaining and order a couple of these in the next coop in October. Because the season is rapidly approaching, I am not going to get rid of my LOR stuff, but rather use the DLA stuff for interaction in my display. Now I have read pretty much everything on the boards about how to make this work, but I just want to make sure I am correct.
Currently I have the iDMX from LOR. I believe I should be able to take and XLR cable, covert the other end to a CAT5 end from the diagram in the WIKI and plug that end into the first Express.
iDMX ---> XLR to CAT5 ---> Express
My other question is do I need to convert all my LOR controllers to DMX devices or can that side of the network stay in the LOR protocol and the DLA stuff work on DMX?
I'm excited to get the Expresses and can't wait to start using them.
