Title: a "dumb" smart string question
Post by: lashbyrn on November 14, 2013,
What gets connected to the distal end of a smart string?  A water tight connector is on at the beginning.  What happens at the other end to terminate?

Nothing.  I just cut clean and put some liquid electrical tape on the end.

hot glue for me.

if you have Technicolor strings, they come with a female connector on the end -- you should use a cap in that case.

Any kind of insulating material works, I have even used clear fingernail polish that I got at the dollar store.  Finger nail polish is a great insulator and you can get it cheap and in many colors in case your other half wants to use the remainder.  LOL.   I have also just cut them off and put nothing on the ends and they have been outside for two seasons without an issue.

I cut the end on a diagonal or at staggered lengths and dab on a little liquid electrical tape.
