Title: Bad pixel strands
Post by: z327 on July 04, 2011,
Built 32 controllers and 3 hubs this week and weekend. Great job RJ (as always). They all work in test mode and no issues writing to the PICs. So I was able to solder on the connectors to the flexistrips and 25 count pixel strings. Good news is all rigid strips and all flexistrips light up and pace thru the colors with the test firmware.

Bad news is of the 8 strands of pixel nodes I bought only 2 work. 4 will only light red and 2 will not light at all. I've double and triple checked that I wired up to the end with the wires going into the node on the chip side.

I've emailed Ray and hopefully he will make good as I've already ordered additional flexistrips and the TH2010 LED pixel controller he sent me didn't function either. All I could get from him for the bad controller was an email copy of the instructions.

Everything that didn't work has been sent back to Ray. He promptly refunded my shipping costs. Now I just have to wait for him to repair or replace the strands and flexstrip.

Ray came through with all working replacements.
