Well I got my products in today from UPS from You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.

They are certainly customized pieces made specifically for our lighting hobby interests.  Like You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login mentioned the fabrication on them is rough.  Looks like the jigs, welding and paint shop could use some quality improvements compared to the price being charged.

However, all said and done they got parts to me very quickly for a project we added into our show at the last minute this year.  The web site is fairly informative with brief descriptions for most products, sometimes several images and numerous helpful videos to assist in walking and talking you through the process.

Beware that this year some of their star kits may not fit their standard topper.  Tonight I'll be running out to the big box store for the appropriate 1/2" pipe nipple and coupler to allow me to attach the 18" star to the standard topper.

Pretty sad isn't it?  I noticed some of it on the pictures on their site but didn't think anything of it until I actually had the stuff in my hands.

live and learn I guess... :)  As long as it holds up for the season no biggie.

I've put some artificial strain on it and don't seem to have any issues with it.

You are right if it holds up I'm sure no one is going to notice it in the dark :)

FWIW, I'm on my 4th season using one of his Megatree Hook Heads and the older design 5-way "tee" for 1.25" black pipe.  They have held up quite well, with no corrosion.  I do recommend using anti-seize on all threaded unions ("a little dab'll do ya"), makes disassembly much easier.

Is anti-seize just a lubricate or a specific product?

Yes, that's the item.  Although you want to get a smaller tube of it.  That container would probably last a couple lifetimes.  When using it, make sure you don't get it on your clothes, it's a bear to get out.  Also, use sparingly.  When threading in the 1.25" pipes and couplings, I use about a jellybean-sized dollop, and that's probably too much.

Anti Seize is great stuff. I am familiar with it from Offshore Drilling rigs. However it does contain, aluminum, copper and graphite and is quite conductive. It is a good idea be careful with it around things electrical.

Deanathpc, did you end up going w/ the black iron pipe of schedule 40 emt?

I opted for the EMT; however, realized I cannot screw the top part to it so it's sitting on it with it's own weight.  I'm thinking this will probably not be an issue.  I'll probably synch it down to the guy wire collar or something.

Attached a picture of the test fitting of all the parts in the back yard.

No sure didn't.  Went with a the cheaper (half the price) plane jane electrical conduit.  Tree has been up for a couple of weeks and even with the wind we've been having it's still standing!

I so need a start for mine...  Just no way to reach up that high even if I did have a star to put up there. ;(
