where to get music

I know the internet is filthy with MP3 downloads, but hunting for songs via Google can be a bit frustrating since so many sites trap you with adware, links to more adware, etc.  Has anyone found any good sites for Christmas music that are safe and effective?

As much as we pay for lights and hardware $.99 for a download is a deal. I have 20 songs, so its not much in the scheme of things.

Now should you come across the situation where you watch a video on you tube and you love the song but no artist is listed OR you can not find that artist on Amamzon/Itunes/Google Play then if you have Audacity installed on your computer open it up and set the Input from microphone to "Stereo Mix" and bring up your web browser with the video from you tube you like and hit the record button on Audacity. When it is done hot the stop button and edit the beginning and ending of your Audacity track (save it as a Audacity project if you might want to edit it more later) and export the track as a MP3 file. Please don't do this just to save .99 cents from an artist who sells his music only in the cases where you can't find it anywhere else.

If you have an iPhone or android you can use Shazam to listen to bits of the song to find its name, album and artist.  Then its easy to download the track legitimately.

Yes, keep it legit.  We got enough issues with making sure we don't violate FCC regs...    

Best bang is to buy the collaborated albums with like 30 tunes on them.

well, it's better to buy the album, if you like the rest of the songs...

i like amazon. not only can you download the file as an mp3, you can also save it on their "cloud" and pull it up from other devices.

If I can't find the song I'm looking for in the music libraries I have access to, I use Grooveshark.  I've found that a lot of the great Christmas songs can be found on compilations or movie soundtracks.

iTunes here.  Then I use audacity to convert over to an MP3.

Go to Amazon.com and into the search bar type

Free Christmas music

(You'll get a prompt saying "Free Christmas music MP3 downloads" and choose that.)

Across the top are two great albums, "Free Must-Have Christmas Masterpieces" and "Green Hill Christmas Music Sampler." The next two are one song each and the fifth one is Christmas at all (gotta love search engines).

Now, on the list below, click on "Sort by" and choose "Price low to high."

You'll get 17 free songs listed; five aren't Christmas music (see above).

Now you have 40 free songs -- that don't violate anybody's copyright -- from which to build your show.
