Very impressive Gary!

I think you got a little carried away though. It's supposed to be Christmas songs.  ;)

Pour Some Sugar was from my Post-Christmas show. Northern Town was on both my Pre- and Post-Christmas show. It can straddle the line.

"Who Spiked the Eggnog" was that from Straight No Chaser?

Great group if so and I did The Christmas Can Can from the same group.

The item that I got the most postive feedback on from my 2010 display were my RGB CoroFlakes - 46" x 46" wide snow flakes with individually controlled arms:

Here is a video showing the internals:

I'm personally a fan of what the Aethers can do:

That is impressive - I only did one non-Christmas song last year and I'm starting to see more people, like yourself, switching to some "regular" music since the amount of strong beat Christmas songs is fairly limited.  I see more "regular" music in my future.

Here was one of the better non-Christmas songs (Blue Man Group) by Fabian:  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login that includes some handy work with the floods.

This last year I received many comments about my new mega tree.
Couple of unique items:
I put it on my roof.
It only stood 14 feet tall
I did red/green/blue in a traditional vertical pattern
I spiral wrapped it in Warm white leds
I used a Firefli pixel string for the star.

Looked great and when it kicked on, everyone missed everything else that was going on in the yard.
I didn't even get a chance to do much sequencing with it.

you can see it in action here!

OOPS!!!

here is the link:)

Mike.

P.S.  This year I am adding RGB elements, but since I am kind of an old fashioned kinda Christmas guy, I am going to pay special attention and only Use RED/GREEN/BLUE/WHITE in my sequencing of the RGB elements.  I will not use fades that incorporate different colors due to the fact that in my humble opinion, it quits looking Christmassy!

650000 lights!
160 Channels - 2010 numbers

Combo Mega Tree
Never enough lights!

Awesome! I think that is the best video of Aethers in action I have seen. I take it they were worth the wait?

I know that this is really a matter of personal opinion but I really have to ask.  Are some of you actually doing Christmas Light Shows or are you just doing light shows at Christrmas?

 Yes, same group.

I also did the Can-can but got it in late. It was a bitch with the beat, tempo and voice.

I guess I'm doing both.  Its a gift to others, really the entire community.  But I'll say that a good mix of Christmas and non-christmas is what I do.

This year, the show centerpiece will be the spiral megatree ... and RGB for some new effects.

I'm still not sure how RGB will work into my primarily incandescent lights ...

My opinion is if your display still looks like a Christmas display, and not the "Apple or Sony store", then the music does not have to be Christmas music. As much as I think the new RGB equipment is really neat, it does not look at all "Christmas" in some displays.

Mine stated that too but my response is that I pay for the house and my decorations, I will quit talking holidays when you quit asking how your dresses and shoes look.  That was a fun night on the couch but none the less the constant rolled eyes stopped, or at least it is not done in front of me.
