I read awhile ago about Kaspersky causing issues. Here is a link to the removal tool in case there is still some of its files on the drive.

Have not reinstalled so there is nothing there.

Sometimes some motherboards are picky about what memory they like. You might check the user reviews for that motherboard over at newegg.com to see if anybody mentions that.

No actually the instant that I enable AHCI. Motherbooard is supposed to support it. I will look up my exact motherboard and post.

did you do the part in the manual 4.5.2.  creating a RAID/SATA driver disk in windows.

it makes a floppy or usb disk with the ahci driver to install during the install of windows, that might help not blue screen.

No I must admit I did not. Could that be my issue though? I did not do that before I installed the 250g ssd. The whole reason that I changed is  that I was trying to keep all of my applications on the ssd and all data files on another one of the drives. The Intel ssd was only an 80g and my all of my apps had it maxed. Like I said before I was having this exact same  issue on the same build with the Intel ssd and at one point stumbled across the fix for it. I'll just be da**** if I can remember what that fix was and nothing any one has suggested rings a bell. Not to say it is not.... I really do appreciate everyone's help here!

I had to go back and read to remember. The reason that I did not is because I was installing 7 not XP or Vista. I am always scared to run something that does not say Win 7 or what ever I am doing. I don't really understand it enough to make gambles.

go to your link that you posted for the drivers...

click on the plus sign next to other...   your win7 driver is there.

I missed the AHCI part some how.

If you installed without AHCI and want to give it a try you first have to change the registry, then shutdown the computer, then enable AHCI in the bios. Then you can update Microsoft's generic AHCI drivers to your manufactuerers. If you change the BIOS without first modifying the registry it will blue screen everytime you try.

Another thought on the other issues could possibly be related to power management incompatibilities or issues with the PSU. I'd try making sure all of that is disabled.

OK so another stupid question. Should I just start from scratch again to do a clean install for this?

If there is nothing on it yet, that would be your best bet.  You can also attempt a repair from the install DVD.  Set the bios settings for what you want it to do and then make sure that the DVD is ahead of the HD in the boot sequence.  Put the DVD in the drive and boot the system.  It should see at some point that you already have an instalation of the OS and ask if you wish to attempt a repair.  It doesn't always fix the problem but it's faster than a reinstall and much faster of you already installed applications.
If at first you don't succeed,
your not cut out for sky diving
