Title: Diy high density multi pixel concept
Post by: rimist on November 21, 2011,
I know similar ideas have been brought up before, however I'm thinking of a significant twist, and was wondering if it is possible:
I want to create a high pixel density sphere or the like. I know normally each pixel has a small chip that connects to four LEDs, RGBW. I understand that it wouldn't be cost effective for me to duplicate it, however, would it be possible to use a more powerful chip to control an entire array of pixels, either 32, 64 or 128?

Sure, That how I did it on the ledtricks. Use a high output chip and charlieplex would do it.

So... I can't seem to find much about the ledtrix or ledtrix2. Do you have anything you are willing to share?
