Network configuration
«
on:
December 29, 2012, »
This is my firt look at Xlights and was wondering if anyone can help me with setting up the networks so I can convert my LOR files.
I currently have 3 LOR networks
REGULAR COM9 - this has 8 cosmic color ribbons
AUXA COM7 - this has another 8 CCRs
AUXB COM8 - this has 9 x 16 channel controllers
When I convert the LMS file I get a whole bunch of error messages that the CCRs are either unmapped or mapped to duplicate channels.
Can somone point me in the right direction or tell me whjere I can get some more detail on setting this up?
many thanks

A screen shot of your xLights network config screen is needed

Danno: first off, does the LOR sequence play fine using S3? If it does not it will not work any better in XLights.
Your channel count is very high and the baud rate does not look fast enough to handle that many channels.
Your problem might be in your channel assignment on LOR for the CCR's and the mode you have then configured. You will need the Hardware Utility to check that the CCR controllers are all set to the same mode.

Thanks Dennis,
The sequence works perfect in LOR so I will check the hardware Utility as you suggest

Danny, this may sound silly but did you have the "Output to lights" box checked? I know my first show I did with X-Lights this year I forgot to check that box and I had nothing, checked the box and bingo instant lights!

Hi Caretaker, I did not have this checked but I have not got as far as trying the lights - just importing an existing sequence. Unfortunatly I worked late last night and have not had a chance to check the hardware ulility.
thanks

I was getting this message when I did not have enough channels allocated for my network to cover my controller IDs.
