Title: Christmas Expo 2014 - Final Thoughts
Post by: zman on July 28, 2014,
Going back in time, a very fitting phrase sums up Expo 2014.

"I love it when a plan comes together" - circa early 1980's, from the "A-Team" TV show.

The overwhelming feedback from those who attended, was that Expo was an huge success. Some initially had trepidation on the venue. That turned out to be a non-issue. Biloxi made a great host city, and attendees raved about the location. Albeit, one note was that it was "too spread out", but hey, if that was the only complaint, that's not too bad. Biloxi embraced the show, and the media was gracious with a ton of exposure for the cause. The Convention Center and logistics were outstanding.

Centered around an "A-Team" of Instructors and Vendors, Christmas Expo had record attendance that FAR surpassed any of the other P.L.U.S./Expo events.

The expanded Education Tracks had everybody trying to determine exactly how they were going to spend their time. From beginner to professional, DIY to Plug and Play, the attendees appreciated the quality of the content and knowledge from the instructors. The Round Table sessions for the collective sharing and discussion of the various topics, Keynote from Jay Cone, Projection Mapping demonstration and class from Charles Belcher, The Great Christmas Light Fight panel, the freebie Decorating 101 Track, plus the hosted reception from LOR, provided a unique value for Expo attendees and visitors.
The "A-Team" of vendors, (20 in all!), continued to express thanks to the Expo attendees who come to open up their pocketbooks and make it well worth their while to attend. A lot of product and smiles was seen leaving the exhibitor hall, due to the special show pricing they offered.

Thanks to the management team, who's vision for Christmas Expo was to get it back on track, create a class event, and keep a focus on giving back to our community. With the success of 2014, the buzz is already happening about next year's event. The date is already set, July 16-18. The venue should be announced within the next few months.

If you have not seen it, The Monkhouse's in their usual class and style, captured the event for all to see:

We attended the expo all the way from California, it was worth every penny. We got more information that will take me the rest if the year to follow up on and put to use. I thought I had a grasp on things, nope..
