Title: Mouser door stop
Post by: lightguy on March 05, 2011,
I just received a Mouser parts catalogue in the mail today,  I didnt ask for it, its about half a tree <yk.. ok ......3  inches thick!! Do they always send these out to first time customers and if so how often after that?

Sure seams like a waste of paper

I have gotten 3 or 4 over the last few years. I've never found the spot "online" to turn them off. They must cost a fortune to print and mail but I don't even open them.

update - went back and looked a little harder - When you go into "My Account" look down the left for "e-News & Catalog Subscriptions"

You can turn off the Paper Catalog there.

Don't worry, even if you change your preferences to no catalogs, they keep sending them. If you call, and tell them to quit sending them, they still send them. This last one I got, I told the Post Office lady to send it back, which she did, postage due. Maybe they'll get the hint.

I don't mind one catalog it's the multiples of the same ones that bug me.
Parts Express sends one with nearly every order and Northern Tool has to be one the worst at sending new ones in the mail all year long .  2 per year are even hardcover, plus all sorts of sales and special edition catalogs through out the year.

Parts Express, i forgot abuot them...  they stopped sending me when i moved. even though that would be an expensive route to go just to avoid catalogs  :P

You are not joking. They will not stop sending them to me no matter what!

How well do they burn in the fireplace? Perhaps I'll just save them for next winter then.

I recently received one about a week or two after receiving parts for the USB Dongle.  Threw it in the outdoor fireplace and just lit it up along with a couple of logs on an unusually warm night.  Very calming and good for the soul actually.

That's funny, because I actually ordered one in December and have not received it as of yet. So if you want one you don't get it, and if you don't, you'll be swimming in them.

I'm saving mine...    should have enough in a few years to insulate a large doghouse  (that I'll be living in after ordering the SSs from Ray).

Hmm, would you use regular construction adhesive to assemble the "bloocks" (book-blocks?).  Maybe shoot a couple nails through the bloocks to hold them together while the adhesive sets...  I wonder what the R-value would work out to be?

These are becoming dangerously close to becoming the "fruit cake" of the DIY electronics community around here.  ;D

You'd think that once they see we keep ordering off the internet, that we "don't need no stinkin badgers (catalogs)"   badgers, from the movie UHF

Took me three days to look at every picture, cover to cover.

I sure wish "Item C" on page 1846 was still available!!

Hmmm.....now...is it going to worth the postage to re-gift it to someone else?

Someone should figure out how to make them work in your display. Glad I have not receive one. If I do i guess it will go right into the recycle bin.

First Mouser Order - Mid December
Second Mouser Order - Late December
Third Mouse Order - Mid-Jan
1st Catalog - 2 weeks ago
2nd Catalog - Last Thurs
3rd Catalog - Today

Amazing....I could save them some money in marketing and have them reinvest it into giving us cheaper blinky blinky!

we wont need a coop for Mouser catalog dog houses...  we all will have enough bloocks soon enough!

I considered hollowing some out to house some LEs since CG1500s have become somewhat harder to come by... unfortunately the catalogs are wee on the tight side.  Perhaps in a few more issues the catalog will grow a bit larger.  Then, a plasti-dip dunk and it'll be good to go !!!  ;D ;D ;D

And you all lied to me. You said it was the size of a brick. It's the size of 2 bricks!
