Title: Programming SSR4 address with EtherDongle
Post by: twwaters on December 17, 2011,
Well, the subject pretty much says what I need to know.  I joined in October and jumped on the coop.  I now have the etherdongle and even got replacement resistors.  While waiting on the etherdongle, I ordered and built 2 SSR4's and a combiner.  So, after I build the etherdongle, can I program the SSR4 addresses with the etherdongle?  Or can I modify the firmware to take care of that.

Thanks for any info,
Terry

I don't see why not. The ssr4-dmx, freestyle, mr16 start address is just sending channel 1 and possible channel 2 (depending if the start address is greater than 255) a level. Say you want the ssr4-dmx to start at address 24. Channel 1 will be sending out intensity of 24 and the rest of the channels will be off.

Which firmware are you loading into the EtherDongle? DMX or Pixelnet
If pixelnet then you still need a SS Active hub

I'll be using DMX since all I have are the 2 SSR4's.

Thanks,
