Title: feature request?
Post by: Steve Gase on December 28, 2011,
I don't see many (any?) feature requests, probably because the idea of new features is laughable with all that RJ has going on.

Still...  I like the concept of the string-mode setting for the SSCs, but I'd like to be able to use this ONLY for some songs and not require a reconfig of the SSC to switch it back.

CCRs allow a for a special channel to do macro effects, including a broadcast to all pixels on the controller.

Can a similar feature be implemented in the SSC firmware?  Maybe a 4th operating mode that added a leading channel used for a broadcast?  (you'd need to keep the original operating modes for backward compatibility...)

Mode4:  "macro mode"

Starting channel 'n' is a broadcast on the SSC
n+1 is the first pixel, n+2 is the second pixel, etc.

Well unless I am totally confused isn't that what hybrid mode does?

In the same sequence I can control the lights with just 3 channels or control each node
