Title: Conductor will not let me set up.
Post by: sittinguphigh on December 23, 2012,
The conductor states not connected.

The conductor will not react to any most buttons.

If your repair is working

Do you have the required files on the CF along with the password set and at least one show and schedule?

Otherwise it won't do anything

Rick R.

I think the repair worked.

I have the required files in the CF.

How can I set the password? I click on the password button and I get nothing.

In the conductor program all the buttons do not work. How can I put one show in or schedule if the conductor program will not allow me to?

To set the password and do the show and schedule the CF must be in your computers CF reader and Not the conductor.

Select the Flash drive and then use the 3 buttons below it (show, schedule, password)

I think there must be a communication problem here.

I go into xlights change the vixen sequence to a conductor sequence.

Install both files into the CF both the audio and lights.

Then install the CF in the card reader on the conductor.

Then set a password. That's were every thing stops. I am unable to set a password.

Mort,
You trying to go too fast.
Eventhough the button for creating password, creating schedule or show are in the Lynx conductor Control program, they do not work with the card in the conductor.
After you put the music files and 'light' files on the card, do not eject it from your computer.
Instead, launch the 'lynx conductor control' program on your PC, and in the drop down menu, select the drive that belongs to the CF card (name should be 'drive letter:'KINGSTON)
Once, and only once this is done, you will be able to create a password, a show(s) and a schedule.
Do every single one of those things (creation password+show+schedule) before ejecting the card. Don't forget to save the show and the schedules.
Once this is done, you can eject the CF card, insert it in the conductor, and if your CF reader is working, it should show at least the time of the next scheduled show.

Yup you are not listening

The Show, Schedule, Password are set with the CF still connected to the CF Reader on your Computer.

Also make sure your Audio and Seq files are 8 characters long or less and the seq file has to be .seq

The lights on the conductor are working.
But I have no sound.
I think it may be that the sound file wasn't converter or I didn't get the correct file in the conductor.

I know the audio was connected to the vixen because it played with the lights.

May be I save the wrong file to the conductor audio.

Not sure didn't see more then one file.

When you copied the converted vixen file to the flash card did you also copy the mp3 for that sequence? And both filenames must be 8 characters or less.

I am not sure if you can use special characters.  ~

Does the MP3 file have to be converted before saving it to the CF file?

Lights working but no sound.
I plugged in the computer speakers and could hear the feed back pop.
Same file in vixen lights and sounds work great.
Played the sounds right from save file works fine.

Any ideas?

I would copy those files off the card to your desktop.  Reformat the card and then put the files back on the card.  Seeing all those shows when you only have one on the card, very odd.

Oh and just playing the mp3 on your computer you get the music you expect?

It appears that you have deleted some shows on the card; i.e. the first 4 file names in the window of "Show on the Card".  The first character is a special character that Windows used to designate a deleted file.  Copy your CF files to your hard drive, reformat the CF card,  and then copy of the files back.

I also noticed that your volume level on the Conductor is set pretty low, maybe to low to be heard.  Bump it up to the 250 range to see if that gets you your audio.
