Can we get the TM1804IC board and RGB bulb separate with out the wire and covering?
Was thinking on making my own shapes with them.
-
Yes. Chris did exactly that. Bought the TM1804 chips, added to them to his own circuit board, attached lights.
-
Pray tell don't leave me in suspense. Tell me were to get these fine products.

it's a lot of work... i found some components from Ray, and others from ebay.

Are those all the parts you need for Smart string node control?
Thanks were do you get the round RGB bulb?
I want to use these for small bells, stars and trees.
Maybe start with a out side shape as a bells.
Then inside the bell make trees and stars.
Different shapes.
I could make a tree bulb shape then make different shape appear inside at different times
and songs.
For me a 12 inch round tree bulb would be enough. Use a half round maybe.

to make a functional node, you would need an rgbled, a capacitor, 4 resistors, a pcb, and the chip. (the actual node also contains 2 diodes)
if you're making something similar to the regular smart string node, you might as well just get the smart string node. they're fairly inexpensive, and hard to match quality and price -wise.
plus, the time it takes you to build one would be at least an hour (after you got the hang on it.,so a string of 128 nodes, would take awhile to make.)
the only reason why i did mine, was that i didn't want to use individual light control with putting flex strip inside pvc for my arches.
