Title: Active hub power supply and enclosure question
Post by: Heinekenator on November 18, 2013,
Hello.

I recently picked up this power supply from a local Micro Center for $40. Is this a decent supply to start using with an active hub?

Also, would this enclosure work? Any tips on waterproofing/ventilation?

Thanks in advance.

that power supply should be more than sufficient. the battery box works perfect because it don't need sealed on the sides, just put some silicon on the vent holes up top and your good to go.

Both look good.  The single rail supply is what you are looking for and the size really depends on how many nodes you are going to hang on it.  The battery box looks good.  Just remember to seal up and vents on the lid to prevent water from dripping on the hub or the supply but leave enough side and lower vents open to let it breath.  It is best to keep the box off of the ground when possible.

When you go to walmart they usually have two sizes of battery boxes.  Go for the largest one.
