I have a sequence.... The grinch... that has been converted from LSP to Xlights and it keeps giving me an error that it cannot find the media file. I have done everything that I can think of to no avail. I have done several songs with no issues, but this one will not work! I have tried renaming the song, re-exported several times. I am just copy and pasting from my LSP music file to Xlights sequence file using the exact same mp3. Any suggestions?

If you view the binary file, maybe with notepad++, you should see the name and the path to the music file.
You have put the music file in the show directory?

Here are a couple of screen shots Sean.

Sean I do have notepad++. Sorry to ask a really stupid question here, but which is the binary file?

Now it is doing it with all of my conversions. It was working fine yesterday.

Can u view the files on e:/xlights sequences

Do u see sound files there?
Did the drive letter change?

I started having this problem today. It is interesting that this is only occurring since I did the latest update. I thought I was gong crazy. Maybe we are finding a mild issue.

Mine was working yesterday with the latest version. I even uninstalled, re-installed. When that did not work I backed up to .9 and still same issue.

Not sure what you are asking Sean, but I see all of my files in the Xlights sequence folder. All of the mp3s, .seq and .xseq files are in there.

There is no .mp3 extension in the error message. I'm guessing that xlights / Nutcracker is looking for a media file without any extension.

Thanks Matt. I have not changed a thing that I know of and edited 6 songs on Friday and Saturday with no issues.

So are we thinking LSP issue or Xlights?
-
Any ideas? I would really like to work on these sequences.

Hi Roger,
Can you post the xseq file in a dropbox somewhere so I can get a look at it?

Both files for you! Thanks Frank!

are u using lighy elf to convert lsp sequence into xseq?
or are u creating seq file and then converting.
the xseq file does not have any extension on it. is this how you keep your sound files?

No I cannot use light elf because of my channel mapping. Light elf doe not like it. I am exporting directly from LSP, then using Xlights to convert them. I will post a screen shot of my Xlights folder shortly. It is not on this computer.

OK So I have to admit this and it really is PAINFUL. :-[ I had a rectal, cranial inversion for the last 2 days. <fp. I changed the way that I was converting the .seq without ever even realizing it! <md..
I was typing the name of the mp3 files instead of just selecting it. Don't know why!!!!! just too tired I guess. ANYWAY all is great in Xlights\Nutcracker land again for me!
Thanks for all of the help!
Roger
It really seems like I do this at least once every year!
