Title: Strange Issue
Post by: tstewart on December 23, 2013,
I had a strange issue with a string of nodes connected to a Zeus 16 today.  Not sure if this is a Zeus 16 issue, node issue or other.  I picked to post it here for now since the lights are connected to a Zeus 16.

I went out this morning and noticed on string of lights had the first 4 or 5 nodes were light up and were white.  I went in and put xLights into test mode to cycle the lights.  Went outside and saw no change on that string.  Cycled power to the Zeus 16 and the string then went all off and did not cycle with the others.  I figured at the time I just had a bad string or at least a node in the string bad.  Then I went out tonight after the mega tree started and now everything is working fine.  Puzzling issue.  I will keep an eye on it and see what happens.

Nodes are 1804 and 50 per string this year.

Well the sequences ran fine yesterday and all of the nodes were off this morning.  So far the issue has only happened once.

My best guess would be moisture.....

A less than perfect data connection could be an issue as well

I've had similar issues with poor data connections between ssc and smart strings

Intermittent odd behavior all fixed when made a better connection

Had the same thing happen. It was definitely moisture related. Had not fully tightened all of connectors and enough moisture seeped in to start oxidation.  Dried everything out with a hair dryer, cleaned the connectors and all has been well since.
