Title: Replacement parts
Post by: enjoylife22 on October 20, 2014,
I am wondering about the boom on mouser. I am going to build a usb dmx dongle. I bought the 485 chip off ebay. I got 10 for 6 bucks  my question is with the 2 different sockets. The have a suggested replacement but I have also seen 3m part numbers. Can anyone tell me exactly which sockets to order or fix the mouser bom. I have noticed that the bom look to be hard to keep up to date. I am not familiar with this stuff yet so I am kind of looking for guidance I this any help will be greatly appreciated.  These were the two it says to use as a possible replacement.

Always use 3m sockets when you have a choice, they have a little crick in the legs that keeps them in the holes instead of falling out when you turn the board over to solder.

I believe these are the Mouser PN's for those 2 sockets
