Title: What plug do you use?
Post by: DanHouston on November 07, 2016,
Was thinking of using:
https://www.amazon.com/NorSway-Waterproof-Electrical-Connector-Socket/dp/B01IA7QW9M/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1478573167&sr=8-7&keywords=2+pin+waterproof+connector

Was going to solder those on to SPT-2.

Any concerns, or other ideas?

I used this one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003C01FD6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 at the time I was paying $2.60 each I see they have gone up.

The only concern I would have is if the line is carrying standard household current. Using a non standard connector usually implies a lower voltage item.

Some guys even mention "well, I'm the only one messing with it." But if something happens to us, then it might be our wives or children having to disconnect the stuff, and I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to them either.

I was going to use those but worried about the male portion of the pkug. Assume you put that on the neutral side of the  AC transformer and should not shock you but was concerned about the risk of a wiring mistake.

Since this is for the Aether Ii it should not be household line voltage which is why I want a different plug so someone does not plug one into a 110 outlet. So should be good?

You need to be clear on the Aether type that you have.  The Aether is 120 VAC and the Aether II is 12 VAC.

I've used these for years. They scream 12v.

Ditto, I use the same ones.  They have worked great and don't get confused with 120V stuff.  I just cut off the plug and soldered them onto the cords coming out of the case.  Easy peasy.
