Title: Qapla! (Klingon for "Success!")
Post by: trekster on February 09, 2011,
Success!  Watched the videos, built it along with RJ step-by-step.  It is not in a case yet.  Jumped the MANUAL connection with a resistor lead stuck in the holes (not soldered) and I got white.  Then I used the lynx config program and programmed the start channel.  Opened Vixen and put in 4 long lines.  Played it and I got white, red, green then blue.  I be damn........ It works!  >.d9  I was very nervous with the SMT part but it went very well.  I know many of you built these months ago but I just started mine a couple of days ago.  I cooked the parts on the pcb one day.  Then today I finished it.  All that dragging my feet being chicken of the SMT for nothing.  It was pretty easy.

Thank you R.J. for the neat toy and the very well made videos!  You Are My Hero  ;D

Thank you Mr. Bill for doing the coop!  You the man!

Boy.... I am still seeing spots!  They are really bright.

Had to google it...  QaQ ta'pu'! translates to "Well done!".  Thanks Captain Kirk.  Sorry about the other day when I made the "I MUDD" joke.   <yk..  I just could not pass on the clever pun.   >:D

Hey, I do not get "bent out of shape" over stuff like that- they are just words and last time I checked the constitution, we have the right to free speech, but we do NOT have the right to be offended.  It is all good.  I enjoy a clever pun even at my expense.  Capt.

Well yeah, our ultimate goal is an ability to recreate the Enterprise bridge with all the flashing lights and bells and whistles!!

congrats!  what a great feeling when it WORKS!  I'm really nervous about the whole soldering thing... so it helps to see success stories!

Watch RJ's videos, use my updated Legend (look for another thread here in the Aether area from me) and relax.  It is really cool to watch the gray stuff turn silver.
