Title: Power transformer
Post by: geronc on December 22, 2011,
Can anyone guide me in the right direction for 2 power transformers? Mouser says they are eol. I have 2 boards I need to build and don't know which one will work in its place. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

I have another splitter to build for next season as well.  It's the one piece of equipment that I have been using this season and has been flawless.

I was about to order 2 kits myself!  Mouser is usually pretty good about offering a substitute, but I am always cautious with transformers due to pin placement.

Could really use some help on this one!

Mike.

Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

I went and googled the part number today and came up with a couple of sources.
1.)  Avnet had 3 and I bought them;)
2.)  A company called TTI has 320 listed in stock.  Problem, they only sell in lots of 40:(

I would love to be able to buy about 6 more due to the fact that it is the same transformer on the ssr4's and I still have a few to build, but I couldn't use 40 of them.

Would anybody want to get a larger order together on them?

Mike.

Dang, I'd been trying to buy those 3 from Avnet for a week, but I couldn't get the cart to work.  I'd be interested in an order.  Did you find out what price TTI was offering them for.

I saw them listed there as well.

Looked like TTI was charging 4 and change for them.  Same as Mouser.
As for Avnet, I couldn't get the cart to work either, so I called them:)

I checked with R.J. and if there is a Coop manager that would be willing to organize this purchase he would support it!!!

Any Coop Managers willing to take on a small coop?  maybe 40-80 units, very little sorting and the eternal gratitude of all of us that have SSR4 or Lynx splitter boards???

Mike..

I just bought 40 of them from TTI. They wouldn't sell anything less than 40 like you said.

Well that would be an unapproved coop. This is why they were trying to get a coop manager to do it.

Thats not how we do things at DLA. Otherwise I will have lots of people just happening to have 600 extra of xxx .

I'd be willing the coop if need. I'll check with RJ on this.

I called them tto get  an idea on pricing they still had 320 in-stock.  But I think in order for the coop to work it could only run a few days because of the inventory on hand which will not be replenished.

RJ OK'd the coop and I posted in the coop.  Let see if we can hit the minimum order of 40 transformers or above.  Rep informed me that we must order in lost of 40.

Since I missed the coop for the 6v transformers I did find the 12v (020-5372.0) http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Pulse/020-5372-0/?qs=sPF7iluEOp7VFT9pQ%252b5Fwg%3d%3d (http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Pulse/020-5372-0/?qs=sPF7iluEOp7VFT9pQ%252b5Fwg%3d%3d) part number from the same mfg and ordered from mouser.  There is 341 on stock.  The pins and physical size are the same.  The only thing is the 5v regulator will run a little warmer but within limits.

I am not sure that is going to work. I think you will find it can not provide the power required.
