i think somewhere it was mentioned that a special "yet to be released firmware" was needed to run two EtherDongles on Pixelnet.
Is this also the case, if you want to run one as pixelnet, and one as DMX?

{shaking the magic 8 ball}
wait for it……….
ugh - "Try again"
{shaking the magic 8 ball again}
How would each dongle know which one gets the pixelnet or dmx? other words Who's on first
Since the computer is sending out multicast both would think its number 1 >:D
So you must wait young man

does multicast listen/transmit on any class C address, or can you tell it to listen on a specific class C ex: 10.1.1.x or 10.1.2.x ?

Multicast is defined for a specific address ranges that all hardware knows how to handle... it must know to forward multicast traffic.
MULTICAST Address | 224.0.0.0 - 239.255.255.255
If you are a listener for multicast, then you open a port on a device using one of these addresses.
If you are a sender over multicast, then you send to that address and port.
A class-C can send, but a class C cannot receive. BUT hardware (routers, swithes) knows to treat multicast differently.
Multicast can be routable through firewalls, but you may need to do something special with your router/firewall for it to work for you. Since you are likely doing everything BEHIND a firewall, you have nothing you need to do with outside access.

I am so new. . . All I understood was "blah, blah, blah (think of Peanuts, when an adult talks). :)
I know with everybody's help, I will understand all of this soon.

Why do I feel you are a lawyer
"inside joke our attorney at work always says this!"
This is the reason we try to keep techincal talk off the forum so new users and less techincal do not fell this way and believe it is out of their reach.
