Please Read Completely before you post in this coop!
Please note the new usps flat rate shipping prices list below.
This is a coop for the Lynx Express Controller. This will be the second coop for it this year. The coop will have a hard limit of 100 units and will close once this is reached or on the 27th of Jan at 8:00 pm E.S.T. if not.
If the coop closes out quickly due to large demand we will try to find an additional coop manager to run a separate coop for more.
To assist in insuring everyone gets the chance to at least get some units, we will limit the number per user to 6 units for the first 96 hours. After which I will post that we will accept higher counts. At that time you will be able to increase your order if you wish to, beyond 6 units until the 100 unit limit is reached.
Remember purchasing kits for the purpose to put them up for sale is not allowed. Anyone found to be doing this will be banned from all coops in the future.
You will receive all the parts you need for the complete kit. To complete your setup you will need power cords for the AC hookup and a DMX dongle to use along with the software programs.
By joining this Coop you also agree that the Coop manager, DLA (as a board to also include all administrators, moderators, and members) shall not be held for any liability. You are joining this Coop at your own risk.
As with any Coop this Coop is subject to the forum rules. These rules can be reviewed using the following link.

Now for the pricing.
We have a base goal of 100 kits. This goal allows the cost per unit to drop low enough to make it cost effective to run the coop. below this number we will not make the order.
Pricing is below broken into the 100 unit levels. The pricing below will include all fees, shipping and handling charges to get the items to the Coop Manager.
*****100 Kit Level*****
Lynx Express Complete Kit /w heatsink (No Case) $67.09
This is an estimate and the previous coops have all beat this in the past. The larger the amount the better the pricing most times.
Shipping will be based on the USPS flat rate box. There are new usps flat rate prices. This is the box that will ship in the US for $11.35 a box and international for $47.95, Canada and Mexico $32.95. This is the shipping cost per flat rate box we can fit about 6 kits in a single flat rate box but can go to a larger flat rate box for larger orders for a few dollars more up to twelve. If you wish to have insurance on your package it is your responsibility to choose the amount and lookup the cost to add. You must add this to your paypal payment and in the comments explain you paid for insurance and how much coverage. We can not be held responsible for you packaged once accepted at the post office and we have a receipt of shipment if it is not insured.
Post with the quantity you wish in this thread. Please do not post questions or your thoughts in the coop thread. Start a new thread in the correct area for these. Coop threads are strictly for people requesting orders. If you later wish to change your quantity please post again clearly stating that this is a update to a previous order and how many you wish it to be now.
For new users you do not pay for a coop until it closes and the coop manager sends you a private message on the forum telling you how much and what to do to pay. Be ready to pay as you only have a few days to get your payment in before you are removed from the coop for lack of payment.
If you have any questions please post a new thread to help keep the coop thread clean.

I have been in a lot of coops here over the last couple of years and I have never seen one fill up this fast. That is amazing. Good thing I don't need any more LEs.

;D*** All Payments Received *** ;D
I want to thank all members that are part of this coop for paying quickly. ALL payments have been received and I will be getting the parts ordered today.
You folks getting the payments in quickly and correctly makes the coop managers job so much easier.
Looks like we may have some backorders but should be a short lead-time on them.
Thanks again
-Jeff

Good news,
All packages for the 2nd Express COOP of 2012 are complete. ;D
They will ALL be mailed on Monday
For the members that order 4 or more kits, I found while packaging that I could safely get your complete order in a smaller box than planned. I therefore have refunded the difference in shipping cost to your pay pal account.
Thank you all for being part of this COOP. And a special thank you for all your cooperation in getting your part done correctly and in a timely matter. The efforts on your side, makes the coop managers job much easier.
I will leave this thread unlocked. Please let me know immediately if you have any issues with your kit.
Thanks Again,
Jeffry

Got mine today....not sure though, how to attach heatsink to the pcb. I got the triacs mounted on the heatsink, but theres 2 screws and spacers and no nuts. It says to put the screws through heatsink - not sure how theres no more holes besides the 16 for the triacs.
Am I missing something??
-
Got mine in WA today!
No nuts on the heatsink just use the plastic risers and screw in from bottom of the board. I usually put my heatsink on before the Triacs
Ryan

mine was in the mail when I got home today!
Great packaging !!! Thanks for a well handled coop, Jeff!
Hopefully I'll get it put together this weekend :)

I've been here ...
First, unmount the triacs from the heatsink ...
Find the two smaller screws ...
Put a nylon(plastic) washer on one and push it through from the back of the PCB (the unprinted side), slide a spacer over it, and then screw into heatsink from the bottom(There are two threaded holes along the bottom of the heatsink - opposite from where it says "Lynx Express").
Repeat for second screw - the heatsink is held from the backside of the PCB.
Now, put in the triacs and secure with provided nuts - don't tighten them until they are all in. (You'll solder everything shortly)
Once they are all in, tighten nuts.
Solder the triacs as per the instructions.
Viola!
-
Thanks for a remarkable coop Jeff. The packaging was top notch! And the labeling is da bomb.
Got mine yesterday and have one built and blinking already - boo yah baby.
-
Absolutely fantastic job of packing with instructions I love it. Got mine
Kevin
-
Sorry for the late reply, I was traveling on business.
Thank you for you hard work. I got mine when I arrived home last night and everything looks great. I especially like the instruction sheet which was really nice. (I wasn't sure if that was standard or not as this is my first express coop with parts, I got a couple of other boards in the first one).
Anyway, thanks again, I really appreciate it.

Just got mine today. Thanks to the US Post Office, mine took a tour of nearby towns before finally being delivered. The contents look very professional. Thanks for all of the hard work.

Been a lazy man on these... I'm attempting to plug in the power connectors (32 connectors at the bottom of the board for output) and they absolutely do not want to go in to the PCB without a major fight. Is this normal?

i've built 10 of them an not had any problems. are all of them connected together? you should be able to slide them in real easy once they are all connected together. good luck

Looks like it's a common problem lately.

I separated the strips, and was able to force them in 2-3 pins at a time starting from the right side. I have decent grip strength but dang was that a PITA to get in.
-
There was a batch of pcbs where some where this way. It was random, people with multiple pcbs sometimes had one like this and the rest ok. We never got a good reason for it. If they are not built and this is the case then I can swap you pcbs but if it is built already you have to work them in the holes.

No problem. Was just frustrating at the time... my first board and I was concerned I may break the traces by using so much force.
That being said, I appreciate how much effort was put into seperating the parts for organizing/assembly. The only dissapointing thing is that this is probably as good as it gets ;)
If you do another coop, I'll take 6!
-
I'll get started building my LEs in the next few weeks. Is there a way to tell if the PCBs are the "easy" ones or the "hard" ones before I start?
-
try inserting the green "screw-down" terminals in the board before you try soldering. if you can't make it fit -- and you have terminals from other LE kits available, try swapping them around -- the fit "could be better".
I had 3 boards that wouldn't allow the terminals to fit... but i eventually found some that were simply tight, get did work. (I was surprised that there was variation in the terminal posts, but i wasn't going to complain.) :)
