Title: Facial Tracking Skeleton
Post by: tconley on May 20, 2012,
My Project Idea:

1st - Take a 4th quality buckey torso and corpisfy it using some online how to docs.

     torso:

     Corpsification Process:

2nd - Take a skull kit to motion enable the skull.

     Skull Kit:

     3rd - hookup a bobcat server controller

4th - slave the whole thing to a raspberry pi using open cv for facial tracking.  This way the skeleton will look at all of the guests and follow them as they move.

     Facial tracking:

5th - try to develop code to process the audio from the raspberry pi to drive the jaw movement.  This allowing easy flexability to change the audio.

This is very amibitious.  I tend to be a good systems integrator but we will see. What do you guys think?

Sounds Awesome.

I hope to see a video of it working someday soon.

if you don't mind the whole idea fits in well with the Addams Family theme song

You can get an audio board such as this http://www.cowlacious.com/products/Scary-Terry-Audio-Servo-Driver-Board-%252d-ST400.html that will use audio to drive a servo (they also sell a kit with a servo, bracket and stuff needed to make the jaw move.)  Of course if you want to be more precise you can use Vixen or Brookshires Visual Show Automation and just program the skull to talk like this:

thought of that but i already have the pi controlling the servos to pan and tilt the head and to trigger the various audio sequences and effects.  so i just need to find code to process the audio sequence going out of the embeded audio port to operate the jaw.
