Title: V2.5 Output Config "HELP"
Post by: AverageJoeTX on August 26, 2012,
First year for pixlenet. Trying to configure output in LSP 2.5. EtherDongle working just fine in xlights testing and V2 up to 512 channels (no previous testing above 512). Attempting to configure 10 flexstrips via the new Pixlenet configuration tool, keeps telling me no com port available. I'm not looking for a com port am I, and theres no other options. What am I missing in the setup process. Any help much appreciated,
Thanks

The etherdongle is E1.31 not pixelnet. You don't have a pixelnet usb based dongle do you? If you have an etherdongle you have a E1.31 device and need to select that as the device to configure in LSP. If you haveen't done so, go pick up the latest published update and install before continuing the E1.31 setup. There is a fix in this update which will be very helpful for you.

I didn't see you post this question over on the LSP tech support board @ http://www.lightshowpro.com/lightshow-support/ .

Latest published update? EDongle or LSP
Not finding anything about latest update on LSP
Thanks for the direction, MrChristmas

I had the com port popup. IF you don't have a USB Dongle attached to your computer and one of your controllers has a configured output for a USB dongle then you will get the popup. So, look at all your controllers in your sequences and make sure all controllers are configured for the ETD. That is unless you are using both ETD and USBD. In that case just attach the USBD to the computer. This should solve the problem.

That was it, when I added my flexstrip controllers I added them as pixelnet controllers. Went back through and switched them all to the e131, all is now in working order.
Thanks Guys  <res  for the quick responses and resolution. <res.
Now back to testing.
