This Coop is for the Pixelnet Splitter.

Please read this post completely before posting in this Coop.

This Coop will have two options. One will be for the bare PCB.  The other will be for a complete kit including PCB and parts.  This option will not include the case, power cord, or mounting screws. The board fits in a standard TA-200 case, the same one used for the Lynx splitter.

This Coop will close on October 14th at 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time or if we hit 100 kits.

Full Payment is expected when the Coop is closed. No orders can be made until all members have paid. All members will receive PMs with details or will be directed by post how to pay once the Coop closes.

Please get your PayPal payments in as soon as you get the Coop invoice PM as no orders can be placed until all payments have been received.

By joining this Coop you also agree that the Coop manager, DLA (as a board to also include all administrators, moderators, and members) shall not be held for any liability.  You are joining this Coop at your own risk.

Here is the pricing breakdown based on the initial quotes. 
Pricing is in US Dollars and includes PayPal and Coop fees.

We have a base goal of 25 kits. This goal allows the cost per unit to drop low enough to make it cost effective to run the coop. Below this number we will not make the order.

Pixelnet Splitter Kit With PCB, parts.
Per Kit At Qty 25  - $25
Per Kit At Qty 50  - $20

Bare PCBs will be around $2 each.

This is an estimate. As always higher numbers reduce pricing and lower numbers increase pricing.

US shipping will be by US Postal Service Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes. All orders should fit flat rate box. Please add $5.30 to your total.

If you are only ordering bare boards or if you are located outside the US, I will contact you with the actual shipping cost as it will likely be cheaper.

Request for quotes have been sent out for PCBs and parts to the vendors.  As soon as I get them back, I'll figure out the final total.  One item is back-ordered (the transformers; we must have bought them out for the SSR4 and DMX splitter coops...) but they have a 2-week leadtime on it so it won't delay things too much.

All quotes are in.  As mentioned, a few parts had gone up since the original coop posting.  The totals came to:

PCB - $2.25
Kit incl. PCB - $22.00
including Paypal and Coop fees.


Payment PMs have gone out.  A few notes on the PMs:

- I accidentally sent out a PM for the people ordering one kit and no boards with the wrong totals.  It was followed up by a PM with the right total and a big note in the subject/body.  The total for one kit and no boards is $22.00

- For people getting 1 board and 1 kit, the totals were correct ($24.25) but the count was off in the PM (it listed 1 kit/no board)

- The bottom of the PM asked to put a note in the paypal message that the payment is for the DSC coop.  It's for the pixelnet splitter coop; I copied the message from the DSC one and forgot to change that in one place

The first batch of parts showed up yesterday (not the backordered ones) so I spent today sorting them and watching the trees dance in the back yard.  So far, just a few power glitches and one double-strke of a recloser but the power is holding.

- Order flat-rate boxes from post office.  Received boxes
- Coop has closed
- Received quote for parts.  Some have gone up a little.
- Received quote for PCBs. 
- Sent PMs for payment
- Ordered parts.  There are two parts that are backordered but should be shipped on 11/5
- Order PCBs
- Recieved one order of parts.
- Sorted capacitors, connectors, and diodes

To do:
- Wait for payment. 
- Sort parts
- Build one and take pictures for manual
- Package
- Send PM for postage payment for DX
- Ship

The backordered transformers are at Mouser
The backordered ICs are still expected at Mouser on 11/8

This must make sense to someone - the boards left Hong Kong, went to Inchon, then to Kentucky and are now in Anchorage Alaska on the way to Massachusetts...  Too bad they can't earn frequent flyer miles.

I have had great results ordering from China. I ordered one item on Friday morning around 11am and DHL said they picked it up at 1am on Saturday morning and at 8am on Monday it was in Chicago and at 11am on Monday it was sitting on my doorstep in Georgia.

About half have been sent out.  All of the shipping labels have been printed; I will try to get the rest out Friday unless I fall asleep after too much turkey...

I have started to add the Wiki entries for the splitter; the BOM is there, the manual will follow when I take some pictures.

I got a bunch out yesterday.  Three more left.  Two will unfortunately have to wait a few days as Mouser shorted me two transformers and are sending me the replacement parts.  I'll get those out as soon as they show up.  I should be shooting the pictures for the manual today.
