I bought my first LE about a year ago. Since then it seems that the gods have comspired agains me ever getting ti going.
I finally have got the time to finish it up and get it going, but then a new problem cropped up-my wife.
My lovely young bride decided that I needed a bit of help cleaning up the man-cave. In the mist of her cleaning frenzy she managed to throw away a little envelope full of chips. She swears that she never did this, but over ten HOURS of looking in every possible place says otherwise.
I need to replace all the chips that plug into the board. Could someone help me with a list of just what chips I need to get?
I have tried to figure it all out but I tend to get lost. I know nothing about electronics and actually depend on pictures and descriptions to put all of the together.
I also need to get a pickit to program all this with. Where can I find a good deal on that?
Any help would be appreciated!

Isn't the parts list in the Wiki for the Lynx Express ->

(scroll down to the Lynx Express)
Parts list from the Wiki is here ->

For the PicKit, get a PicKit 3 you can get it off ebay (get the real Microchip PicKIT 3 and not the clones)
Or buy it direct here:

Thx, I think I have figured it out. ;D
I simply took the BOM and deleted everything that had a picture and did not look right. After that I was able to get a good idea as to what was what by the part numbers and descriptions. There was one extra part that did not have a picture and I am not sure just what it is, so I just bought it. <yk..
I was going to buy some solider until I saw that they had 583 different types of solder and flux. Screw that. I need to order some tips from MCM anyway, so I will just get the same thing I got last time!

Cool! You caught my one mistake just in time. I still have the order open in another window! Thx!

If you are putting in an order to Mouser, I would suggest adding in some spare parts as well such as an extra PIC, a few triacs and perhaps a few more opto's. This way you can both aviod the fairly high shipping rates from Mouser and have parts on hand if something happens to the controller during the season.

I did order a few extra parts.
BUT! The day after I placed the order for the missing parts, guess what I find!
THE BLINKY-FLASHY GODS ARE AGAINST ME!
-
Then I guess that you need to apologise to the wife and are rewarded with even more spare parts. :D

Noooo....I am going to try the "just shut up and hope the wife does not find out while ordering another board" method.
