Lynx Aether / Re: Aether I, Need Help
« Last post by tbone321 on April 04, 2024,  »
Yes, that sounds like soldering issue.  It could be one of the LED's so I would look at them first.  If you have a plastic rod, you could press around the solder points of each LED and see if the board reacts.  Do Not press on the face of the LED's or you could damage them.  You can find the parts list in the WIKI.  Go to the Aether and select the Mouser Direct link.  Some of the parts are no longer available.  I had to replace one of the LED's in one of mine and I had to search for them elsewhere.  I did find them but they only had about 8 left so I ordered 3 so I had a few spares and that was a few years ago.

Lynx Aether / Aether I, Need Help
« Last post by pete peters on March 29, 2024,  »
I have an Aether I, When I use the override switch, only the blue will come on. After leaving the Aether on for a few minutes, the board heats up and the the the LED's turn to white. After turning white the green would turn off giving the purple color for a few seconds than turn back on going back to white. This on and off than continues. At startup the Blue LED'S are the only color on until it is left on for a while as mentioned above.
Does this mean there may be solder issues?
Where on the board should I look?
Also where can I find the parts id sheet that RJ used in the video?
Thank You

Maybe something along the lines of the Bud Industries series enclosures.

For those people that do not know LOR.  The pixels are the same as other pixels.  They use the 2811/12 3 wire pixels and they can be connected to other pixel controllers like Falcon, Kulp, etc. to drive them from xLights or FPP.  You can also use the LOR controllers with FPP and xLights too.

The Porch / Case just a wee bit larger than the CG1500?
« Last post by JoeFromOzarks on March 07, 2024,  »
Howdy!

I'm swapping out all of my old Ray Wu 12VDC power supplies with real Meanwell 350's.  The old power supplies fit just perfectly in a CG1500 with a Smart Hub, the Meanwell's are about 1/8-inch too wide.  I'm looking for slightly larger CG1500-type outdoor cabinets, would you happen to have any Grey Poupon?  Wait.  I mean, can you suggest a suitable cabinet and sources?

Thank you!!   (Image for the benefit of the older folks, 1995 advertisement. :) )

The Porch / Re: Another season down

I still use 5 of the Lynx Expresses every year.  I have a permanent Express mounted in the basement connected to house lighting that part of my home automation accesses to turn on and off light inside and outside throughout the year.  When it comes to Christmas, xLights accesses it to control the outside lights to be part of the show.

Generally people would put these in a cheap outdoor flood enclosure, but many solutions would work.

Often I saw people powering them with 12V LV transformers and they used like 35w each on full.

THESE ARE VERY BRIGHT

*warning* the kits MIGHT be missing a part or two, probably not much tbh -- but for the cost of these,
any missing part (like maybe a volt regulator or two) those parts would be maybe under $5 to source.
The reason I say this is because I can vaguely recall having to steal a part or two for another build and it was
something like a voltage regulator and or a capacitor or something, nothing expensive or rare.
Upon inspection the kits look 99% as they would have from the COOP manager.
