Some exciting news but short notice LSH is having its first Webinar / Online Workgroup – with the season approaching.  This SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY (Monster Truck Voice) from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM CST.  Matt Brown developer of xLights will be on the line and Q&A is encouraged.  This Online Workgroup will show you how to download, install, configure, and setup your show in xLights - also Q&A.

I recommend get your local group together and have a watching party.  Go register today for this GREAT event.

Since there's apparently a fee associated with viewing this webinar, might it be more appropriate for this thread to be in the "Vendor Deals" section?

Not to start an argument - but so does The Academy and it is in this forum.  It would be nice to have a section for 'Event's & Gatherings' where this stuff could go easily.

Also LSH isn't a 'vender' but Organization and EXTREMELY transparent on costs and where it goes (Ask RJ) - NO ONE gets paid.  I know you see me post a LOT of the LSH stuff and even I pay to attend them Workgroups, webinars, or other event.

I would think it reflects some of the costs associated with hosting the webinar.  I'm pretty sure that those that "give back" can testify to the costs they incur in providing "free" information, products, training and more to the community at large.  I'd think of it more as a "donation" at church - the church (most times) isn't trying to get rich - just cover it's costs.

On a side note.  Given how well Lone Star Holidays is run as a true, registered non-profit, I wonder if the same has been considered for DLA?  There are all kinds of benefits to running such an organization as a non-profit, the least of which is the 1099-K.

Herein lies the confusion on this. The webinar feature is something that is being tested by LSH.  Because of our Academy partnership with DLA Harrison wanted to share the invite. If it becomes a staple in LSH's world of education it will have a fee attached, for all of the reasons mentioned above. But this one is really a "test balloon", from the planning Matt is doing, to the registration & cost, to how it is "marketed" are really just being tested. So...

The $5 cost off of this webinar so go register! We want to have a bunch of people on there so we can see how things work- we need guinea pigs!
