smart string mega tree.

I want to build a smart string mega tree. I know that for the price of leds for just 3 color is high enough. 100 nodes is the amount and the right length but how many strings for an 8' diameter is good? I have 16 channels on my tree now but with the smart strings would I need that many with all the tricks of the smart strings?

my trees last year were 16' tall, and almost 8' diameter.
I used 100-cnt LED strings, but I folded each back, so each string showed as 50-cnt and 2 strands.

one tree had 8 channels of white, with 3 100s each.  and it had 1 channel of 8 greens, and 1 channel of 8 reds. 
it was 40 strings of 100, 10 channels.

the other tree had 8 channels of white, with 3 100s each.  and it had 1 channel of 8 greens, 1 channel of 8 reds, 1 channel of 8 blues, and 1 channel of 8 pinks. 
it was 56 strings of 100, 12 channels.

I was able to do tricks with white, and used the colors for accents...  I was short on channels and that was my reason not to put the colored strings on separate channels.

Your show looks great. I love the trees with all the colors but the many things that can be done with smart strings or strips is what I really want. Lboucher has his on pachristmas.com and its a great addition to his show. We have a lot to think about before I make the next step. Thanks for the show. One day I will post mine when they are as good as that.
