Music Questions!!! Legal methods only:)
« on: January 13, 2012, »
Well, I am running into an issue that is an annoyance!

2 years ago, if I wanted to use a song, I actually had the CD for it, the software on my computer would rip a copy to my computer, I could run it thru Audacity for the right output and use it for sequencing.

Now that most music can be purchase online, I am having issues understanding the best practices for obtaining non-copyrighted music for use in my show.

could someone give me an easy way to purchase a song from vendor "X" that can be pulled into Audacity for changing codec and output options so that I can sequence?

For whatever reason, non of this equipment puzzles me, LSP isn't that hard, but I just can't seen to understand the best way to deal with getting the music!!!

I use MuvAudio3 software to convert protected music to become unprotected.

Their stance is that you must have legal access to the music (Napster, Rhapsody, iTunes, Amazon, ...) and they just allow you to listen to the music in your preferred form according to the "fair use" clause of the law.

Whenever I have received a file from amazon it is in a .amz file.  Does Audacity read those and covert?

I must be missing something simple:)

the .amz file loads into their downloader software, the end result is a mp3

you can also store them in the cloud and then download as needed for the MP3.
