Crazy storms last week
« on: March 06, 2012, »
I'm not sure where to post this one....

Wanted to make sure that everyone made it through the crazy storms last week.  I know we have a staff member (lonewolf41) that lives in Madison, Indiana where some of the major tornadoes went through.  I hope he and all of his family is doing well.  If there is anything I/we can do to help, please let us know.

...in our thoughts.

I too hope everyone is OK. My heart was warmed to see many videos of people poring into these towns to help out in any way then could either to clean up, provide meals. clothes, water.  In fact one town had to turn people away as they had so many volunteers it was getting to crowded. This is before FEMA has even started to survey the damage. It's when the worst things happen in our country the best of our people show up.

We had the tornado too, my son and I hid in a parking garage down the street.  We watched the roof of a store blow through the garage, a 2x6 hit the Suburban windshield microseconds before I yelled "get down!"   :)

Next day, the "damage tourists" and the looters were out in force.  Nothing like finding someone trying to steal your stuff out of your own back yard, stepping over debris to get to it.   I chained the generator to my very heavy BBQ smoker.   I hate thieves.

But we're alive and kickin'!!

Thank God!   I have, did, and do!!

There is another issue though.   I properly removed the stub from the parking gate when we went in, but the gate (and the pay machine) was completely gone, wiped away by the tornado.  The stub still sits on the dash of the Suburban, do you suppose the meter is still running and one of these days I’ll have a whopper of a parking bill?
