MR16 struggles
« on: November 09, 2012, »
Hello all,

I finally finished 4 MR-16s I bought about 3 years ago.  OF the four 2 worked perfect but 2 are giving me fits.

Problem one:
One unit works on Channels 1-16 but will not take a programmed address.  I tried reflashing and got the same results.

Problem two:
This one just does nothing...  I checked that I am getting 5 volts out of the 7805.

Not sure where to look from here. I need to take them out of my mounting to check solder joints next. What else should I be looking at?

OK, Problem 2 solved (voltage regulator working does not matter if there is no solder on the joint...) but now That unit has the same problem as unit 1. I can control the unit with channels 1-16 but cannot get it to take a new address.

OK Nevermind.... Now I have both working as expected....

Sam, who is happy he flashed his etherdongle with newest firmware!
