No Computer control for one LE (Fixed)
« on: November 10, 2012, »
I have one LE that is not responsive to computer control, on-board test runs great lights and LED's all light, data led is on, just no control from computer even with DMX-deck.  I suspect one of the RS485 chips has gone bad, but it will accept programming from config tool on 1st channel??

Any other thoughts? I tested it alone on the dongle, and junpered correctly ( terminated and non-wireless)

What output device are you using to control it.  It only uses 1 RS485 for all input so if it is responding to the config tool, then it is receiving data.

Opso's are all in correctly and in the on-board test, light strings light up, and led's on all 16 channels.

Lynx USB dongle is output devise.

swap 485 chip from a working LE, to see if problem follows the chip

If it were the 485, then it would not respond to the utility either.  How are you determining that it is responding to the utility?

While true, he said that he was using the utility to do it.  I would reflash the PIC.

Checked continuity in traces from H11AA1 and had to add two jumper wires to the resisters, but LE is up and running now.

Thank you Thank you Thank you.  Ive been trying to figure out why one of my 12 boards would not work.  I have swapped chips form other boards and nothing.  Then I start reading all the posts about problems and I see in many of them the  word "JUMPER"  Guess what i forgot to do on the one that doesn't work???  The Jumper for wireless was not installed.  I even built my backup board at 3am today and it too failed because of the Jumper not being installed.  My show is now 100%.  DUGH
