Overwrite files okay?

I understand you should not delete files on the CF card, but is it okay to overwrite?  I need to change some channel numbers and want to update all of the sequences on the card.  Is it that the FAT needs to be contiguous or do all of the files need to be too?  I believe overwriting the files keeps the FAT the same, but not sure.

Files need to be also. Best to have a folder on your computer that you update and then format your card and copy all of the files to your card.
