Lost is found again
« on: November 14, 2012, »
Hi folks

I am so happy that I found this object. It has been lost for 10 years and I saw it a few minutes ago.

Does anyone know what it is?

It's a trigger switch. To turn things on. "Like opening a door and turning the lights on."

its a trigger switch. When you step on the top switch it snaps down with the spring and this triggers the bottom switch to trigger and close the contacts betwen the left and right solder points.

Greetings,,,

It's a reindeer sync input.  How else do you think the reindeer use their hooves to input the taps into Santa's sequences?  They work year round.

Part of an alarm system, when the door is opened, contact is made, and noise happens. ;D

it was giving to me MANY MANY years ago by a ma bell tech. He called it a cricket and it was part of the switching gear for the rotary phones. It clicks as when pushed down and closes the circuit. We used to have a large room on campus that ma bell maintained that had these contacts and a huge battery room for backup. Each day he had to test the battery levels and replace worn out crickets. He was an awesome person and I really miss him.
