can both dmx outputs be used on le version 5 and are they both the same universe????

Yes and the same universe.  It is kind of like a splitter.

I think #1 is straight out and #2 is regenerated.  My thought is I use #1 unless I need a branch then I use #2.  #1 will pass the signal even if the power is off.  I don't think that is the case with #2.

the only issues will be if you're bringing in your dmx via the ex attached to an Express. then DMX 1 will not work on just the Express with the EX (wireless card) attached.

if you connect your devices via the dmx2, and not use the dmx 1, then put on the terminate jumper.

you can use them both at the same time and it will act like a DMX splitter.
To rule the entire tri-state area!  What's that? Perry the Platypus!!!
