Basic Question
« on: November 22, 2012, »
Hey Guys,
I am playing with LSP and want to test a sequence.
I have done the sequencing on a computer inside and need to get it on a computer outside.
i though you would just copy the .seq file to the other computer but LSP wont open the copied file.
So i tried copying all three folders LSP puts in my documents
still no luck.
Any idea what i am doing wrong?
LSP 2.5.4650.19419
Thanks.

What error do you get? Are the sequences and audio files in the same location on both computers? Does the second one have the license? Are the outputs configured on the second computer?

Hey Keith,
no there is not a license installed.
Would that matter? I have opened a ticket on LSP to get my license.
I can't configure the output without the sequence or controllers.
however, the audio and sequence files are in the same place.
Thanks.

OK, I got the license installed.
however, same problem.
i click on open sequence, and then click on the sequence i want to open.
Then i see the popup saying it is opening the sequence.
Then the quick tips screen opens.
i close the tips but there is no sequence there.
However, no errors.
along the bottom toolbar it says loading sequence but i have let it sit over an hour.
Thanks.

Is this the version in the change log on their forum? I think there is a new release coming out any day from what I saw in their shout box. You might try opening lsp in admin mode if win7. I have also seen win7 do weird things with permissions on copied files.

What file are you coping over?  I believe it should be .MSQ extension.  .SEQ is used for the conductor.

If you have the right file, reboot the PC and only open one sequence at a time.

I tried it an admin mode.
same problem.

This is how you do it right?
most people sequence on one computer and then just copy the audio and sequence file to another computer to run the show.

Mickpat is right. The extension should be msq. What you have is a conductor export file.

sorry, it is a .msq file.
I just rebooted and now when you start LSP you see the sequence in the quick start dialog that comes up.
however, when i click on it nothing opens.

If you have copied it more than once I would also post on lsp's site. You might copy your output xml file to your outside computer.

You might try pming mmulvenna over there. Many times he will have you email him the file and he will try opening it. I am at the hospital and don't have computer access until late tonight.

I had the same problem until i copied it to a cdrw and opened it on the other computer. You might want to do the same with the mp3.

How did you copy them to the other computer? Right click on the files and under properties they are not read only and under security that you have full control.
