I thought I would take a minute to mention something I noticed about my rope light purchase this year. I ordered rope light from eBay. The price was right and much cheaper for warm white and green compared to other suppliers that I knew would be good.
After hanging one section I noticed that parts looked good and parts of it not so good. I later learned that the rope light I had purchased had VERTICAL LED lights. This makes them very visible when faced out and dim when not.
I have other LED rope light of a higher quality with horizontal LED's and the light looks good regardless of how its placed.
So what am I getting at. Know what you are buying and how you will us it. Both look great if you install them properly. I think horizontal is the best all around.
