copy sequence to new computer
« on: December 03, 2012, »
I know I have seen the instructions before.  But, I have copied a sequence from one computer to another.  Copied the profile as well.  But when I open the sequence on the new computer nothing is there. What am I doing wrong?

Have you attempted to attach to the profile after moving?

Other option, prior to copying Tom old pc, flatten the profile into the sequence, then save sequence, then copy.

Make sure and use copies instead of originals in case my instructions aren't right on.

Do you have the same versions of Vixen on each computer.  I copy from computer to computer all the time.  No problems here.

That may be my issue.  I'll try again tonight.

What is odd is that of all of the sequences I copied the ones that were attached to "preview" only seemed fine but anything attached to the profile with the dongle didn't copy correctly.

Are you using Pixelnet and if so did you add the plugin for the pixelnet to the second computer?

If the sequences with a profile didn't work then you didn't get the profile and or the correct profile. I would copy the folders (select these folders - sequences, profiles, audio, plugins) to the new computer.

a safe way to move from one computer to the next is to download fresh, and install on the new computer, then copy the entire vixen folder from the old computer and overwrite the whole folder on the new computer.

if you copy the folder to the new computer, sometimes you have trouble running the program.
by installing fresh fixes that problem.

by copying everything from the old to the new computer, you bring everything over exactly as it was.
