no RGB: should I use xlights ver b or e?

I recently started to use xlights (rev b), right before the recent updates with the RGB effects.
Since I do not have RGBs and only use incandescent lights in my display (and no plan on getting RGBs anytime soon), is there any advantage to change to the latest version ( vers e)? Are the recent updates only geared towards incorporating RGBs effects?

If you're using that version with no issues, then I would stick with the old adage: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
