Interesting stuff - I wonder if you could get it direct from China if you bought in bulk? Thanks for the link.

Here's another source of EL wire for you to look at.  Haven't done business with them as of yet, but I've been thinking about it for a couple of projects I have in mind.

This stuff is way cool. I found a site here in Houston that sells the wire and controllers and drivers for it. I'm going to contact them to see what kind of deals they can work out for us if enough people would be interested. Maybe we can get some good deals on bulk and parts. The site is You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. Could have some serious fun with this.

Just for the fun of it I got some EL wire and EL tape. The wire was red/purple and not very bright - lights have to be turned off to see it glowing. The tape is green and much brighter - maybe the green wire would be brighter too. Here's a little video of the tape being controlled by the LYNX MR16. Blink, Ramp On, Blink, Ramp Off.

Fun stuff to play with inside but not sure it would be useful for outdoor displays.

I've always thought this stuff was cool. Thanks for showing us the ability to use with lynx controllers.

The ideas are endless. It would be expensive to do much experimenting though.
