Substitute for M74HCT273?
« on: December 17, 2012, »
I think I'm going to build out my freestyle PCB for next year.

The M74HCT273 is unavailable/obsolete. Can I use CD74HCT273 instead? Digikey lists it as a possible alternative. I looked at the data sheets and they have the same pinout. Just wondering if anyone can verify this for me.

Thanks,

That should be fine. The first two letters are just the manufacturers code. The chip is an industry standard 74 series chip. The hct describes the electrical characteristics and the 273 describes the logic inside.
