Nutcracker: Bug, gallery images gone

Well yesterday, while working to clean up disk space on nutcrackler123.com, i mistakenly deleted the 5 gigabytes of animated gifs.

So as of today, you will not see the animated gifs in the gallery.

This is the bad news

The good news is this will require me to finish the program that will recreate the gallery. This program will fix the missing gifs on nutcracker123.com AND it will allow all of you with a ;local install to finally get your own gallery.

It will probably take through this weekend to get code finished and a couple of days to recreate the images

Yep. Since i now have a unix shell on nutcracker123.com, i was trying some commands so i can make a cron entry. Well, i got one of the commands wrong. Good news , i never seen so little disk usage, 11gbytes. I am also moving some of the tutorials to vimeo. That would free up another 5 gigs of disk space.

Unix commands certainly don't offer confirmations do they.

Practice on a live system can lead some interesting results.

I finally installed google chrome.  I hope to see the gifs when they are recreated.  I know I will see some great effects that I may want to copy.  Thank you for what you do.  It's cool stuff.

Gallery is back on nutcracker123.com

I will release the command that created the nearly 8000 images this week. People with local installs will finally get their own gallery.
 Doing some more testing.

Timing was not so bad, less than 18 hours to build them.

I have discovered the possible solution for some people that are not seeing the gallery.

I have two desktop links to the nutcracker website.

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

If you use the first link the gallery shows up every time.

If you use the second link the gallery may or may not show up. You get the 'waiting' prompt and the icons never show up.

If you are having the problem with the waiting message showing up I would suggest that you change your URL link to 'You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login'

The problem is with the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login reference.  Ajax is too dumb to realize that You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login = nutcracker123.com.  I just need to modify the code to remove the "www." if it finds a string reference with those four characters in it.  I just haven't gotten around to doing it.  Ajax is very specific in how it references httpd (web daemon or in laymans' terms web server). The Ajax code is referencing the server without the www.

Agreed.  But it did allow us to get a fairly decent gallery out quickly
