How are you using/planning on using the DMX Player

My main thought is to run some color fades for landscape lighting so I can drive my Aethers in the yard.

I have several pieces that I want to use this in.  First is a large star for my Nativity scene and second is to drive the Toy Factory I am going to build which is still n the drawing stage.  I am also thinking about putting the light strings on one of my indoor Christmas trees on one.  In the long run I see many applications large and small.

Now I have another use to add to the things I was going to use it for.  Also to blink the lights I have hanging in the trees around my deck.

I use X10 to turn on static items throughout the house.  Front and back porch lights, Living room curio cabinet  lights ... ect. In Xmas season  X10 turns all these off all the above during the show and turns on "tune to" signage spotlights.

I am going to use X10 to drive Aethers in the front of my house that will shine on trees. And a second panther to drive pixel strings on my screen porch for summer mood lighting.

So far the most channels I have pushed through the Pnather is 48.  Has anyone done more?  Has anyone tried a full universe?  Now I wish I had one of those DMX testers.

The DMX Panther Pushes a full 512 Universe. Try changing your starting channels for you devices. You specify the starting channel for each section you load into a sequence, this way you can pull from what ever channels you want to and push into what ever channels you want. even in the same sequence it will ask you if you want to replace or merge into the same sequence.

I have 81 channels on my star, however, I cant do some of the fancier sequences with the slower event timing. When I first built it, with a 50ms event timing, did some fantastic effects. Ths can still work as a stand alone display item.  This year, hope to control a buddies fountain with simple slow color fadeswith 134 channels. Looking to unwrap it this spring to play and push the limits of this cool little device.

Some earlier test images.....yup......its that big !

I've had it running a DMX pixel controller I'm testing for some friends the last couple of days. Driving 2801 and 2811 pixels through the controller beautifully.

My daughter is finishing her Masters in Art. I help her add motion to her projects using servos. She is always leery about having a laptop sitting out to drive the servo board and any DC controllers.

This will be good for her standalone projects. Using the STOP command and a Push button switch to Reset/Restart will be even better.

Servos really do not care about the 100ms timing.

For my purposes, small Halloween display items with moving skulls will be great.
